Just called my LFS to order 2 20K Ushio's. they left me know that Phoenix is making bulbs again and they expect the shipment in a week or 2. Sge going to hold 2 for me. She even said they might be in the end of next week and that it wasn't HexArc, it was Phoenix Electric.

I was running 10k ushio's and the growth was awesome but way to yellow. Ushio has a reputation for being real accurate with color temp. The 14k is ok on color but I also have actinic led's for supplementation. Next time I'm going with 20k.

I heard they are coming back, but haven't seen them pop up anywhere I've gotten them in the past. Thankfully I still have two backups in my private stash to hold me over until the are widely available again.

Its all about 20k radiums in my book. Prettier colors and no algae. but be careful because your light (par) will drop slightly. but its a matter of personal perception and look. I think it looks cleaner.

Allow me to edit and add. Be careful when drastically changing your lights out. Your corals adapt, but thats a rapid change.. just think about that prior to shifting to a new style bulb. But im still all over 20k

I didnt read this whole thing so keep that in mind. But I'm pretty sure that Phoenix still sells 14k bulbs. Atleast my supplier says they have them.

I'm not sure if you know this but they are making them again. I may be late to the party lol but if you didnt know then u do now lol

Phoenix is my favorite but was quite pleased with Ushio as well. Initially i ran Arcadia for 2-3 years (not sure if still being manufactured) with good results.
