When I bought me system used I came with the phosban reactor and I have not used it. I am having a problem with getting some red slime, green hair and I have to clean my front glass almost every day. I was wondering if I can run GFO in the phosban reactor and if so how full should I fill it. Should I invest in a BRS dual reactor? Thanks

You would need to test the phosphates first to see if you in fact have a phosphate problem before using any reactor or media.
It does not take much GFO in a reactor, about 10 grams or one level spoonfull per 10 gallons is full strength and you should start with 1/2 that amount in the beginning so you don't shock the system.

Like with any suppplement or additive though you need a test kit and use it on a regular basis before and during to monitor whatever contaminant or element you are worried about, don't just add GFO beacuse someone told you to.

I have tested for phosphates and they are at about .25. I was hoping that running some GFO or GFO / carbon mix or a dual reactor would eliminate phosphates and eliminate the red slime and maybe green hair. My green hair is only on my power heads and loc line at this time.
