Phosban reactor for 180 gallon tank

I noticed that the phosban reactor comes in two sizes now.

I am thinking about replacing my ViaAqua media reactor with a phosban reactor due to the small size of the ViaAqua reactor. Due to the smaller capacity of the ViaAqua media reactor, I am having to use high capacity GFO which is more than twice as expensive as the regular one. I've kinda fed up with recharging high cap GFO and ready to switch to the regular GFO anyway.

The smaller one of the phosban reactor is rated for 150 gallon of water. I am not sure how much water I have in my 180. Does anyone use a smaller phosban reactor for this size tank without any issue? Or should I go with the larger phosban reactor?

Does anyone have a spare phosban reactor (a screw-top version) for sale?

Can I ask a stupid question? Well, I know I can, but may I? Yes? Well, what is the difference between a "phosban" reactor and a "media" reactor? They seem synonymous and I have not been back in the game long enough to know. Isn't Phosban a name brand product?

Your correct. It's just that the phosban is easily converted to a media reactor. Instead of using a filter pad you us a plastic that stops the media from leaving the reactor.

Yep. Phoban is a brand name. Two Little Fishies makes it. It's a type of GFO. It belongs to the categry of media reactors. There are a number of media reactors such as a calcium reactor, a sulfa-nitrate reactor, biopellet reactor, plankton reactor, etc.

Does Phosban do something special that GFO or hi-cap GFO doesn't?

No, I don't think phosban is any different from other GFO. I am going to get a larger phosban reactor since that would give me enough volume to use regular GFO. I have to use high cap GFO right now simply because my smaller ViaAqua reactor has enough room to run high cap (twice as strong as the regular). High cap is good for the smaller reactor but it's not as economical. I used to recharge high cap GFO which allowed me to reuse it, but the recharging process is very tough on impellers. After breaking two of them one after another, I decide it's just not worth the cost and time.

Just curious. I guess Phosban has become sort of a generic. Like:

"Do you want a Coke?"
"Sure"
"What kind?"
"Diet Pepsi, please"
