Hi everyone need advice phosephate showing 0.10ppm using a reactor and changing rowaphos every three Days and still showing me 0.10ppm doesnt seem to come down and even doing weekly water changes got a 450lt tank and putting 100Grams of rowaphos into reactor anyone got any advice thanks

Something not right there as the Rowa calculator says only 3 tbsp will get you to 0.03...are you rinsing the Rowa? Where did you buy it from? What flow is the reactor set at?

why are you changing it every 3 days? Is the PO4 lvl increasing before you change the Rowa?

Do you trust the tests you are using and using them correctly?

Doesn't that give you posts on everything, like sps, algae, hitch hikers, all together? If that's the link you mean, I usually don't want to see a lot of those forums, so I don't go that route. Maybe I'm doing it all wrong

It’s either becoming spent very quickly or maybe the test kit isn’t accurate

In my S650 which is around 40% bigger I use anywhere between 300-500g so I don’t need to change it very often, in my case every 3-4 weeks

Try increasing the amount to 250 and see how you get on

Welcome, at .10 I wouldn’t chase it although with using rowaphos it should come down.

What is the age of the tank?

"Meet and Greet" forum is one I watch because I like to say "Hi" to new people. @reef and @Just John everyone does it different; there is no right or wrong, but agree more eyes would be looking to answer phosphate questions in a more specific phosphate forum, but there was already good info here

@Dave cobb Since you mention use of Hanna and since they have phosphorus checker not phosphate, including the Hanna chart (if you don't already do the extra math, as every once in a while someone finds their phosphates are 3x what they thought (I was one of them )
