I bought these products. One is for 100 gallons, one is for 60g. These are for a 10g tank. Want to keep my phosphates in check as I recently had a fight with GHA. Do I need to cut the bags open and put in appropriately sized bags? They’re sealed bags, and I don’t know exactly how the chemistry in these products work.

Will putting the whole amount in a 10g cause issues, or just simply deplete the product slower?

Just drop them in your filter and you’ll be fine. I use Purigen and PhosNet in a 29 gallon with no issues. Even the PhosNet is list for I think 60 gallons.

I would not put so much Phosguard in a nano. It risks phosphate being too low. The Purigen is probably OK, but preferentially use less.

So it’d be OK to cut these bags open and put the media in separate bags?
