Hello I bought 100 ml of phosguard for my 10 gallon which had a massive algae bloom. When should I replace the phosguard? i plan on only using it for two days every week how long should it last?

100 ml to 10 gallon its too much
You should add 85 ml of phosguard to 50 us gallon for 4 days and test the phosphate if the test reading phosphate in water replace the phosguard by the same quantity

Well it comes in a bag that I can't change so I'm stuck with 100ml

So basically I can get two uses out of each bag this seems expensive is there any other way to remove phosphates?

Change the water 20% each 3 days for two weeks

How does Phosguard come in a bag that you cannot use less?

It depletes fast at high phosphate and slow at low phosphate. unless you know the phosphate level, you cannot easily know when to replace it.

But does contain a mesh bag that cannot be changed and must be used as is?

Assuming so, I'd definitely look for it in other packaging, or a different product.

I thought that the bag would able to be opened but it's sealed for the future I'm going to buy a separate bag and phosguard in bulk

buying it in the bag is very tricky.. I ran into the same problem with my nano... go out and buy phosguard in the jug and then just get a bag they sell.. you measure it out and can accurately dose with it

I actually just removed my large bag from my 5 gallon pico as well. It was too much. Had it in for a few hours before I realized.

I will be going with some nano bags and filling my own when I have to run it in the future

I just removed it from mine tank cleared up for now

oh always be sure to rinse the bag first as well otherwise it will cloud the water for a bit
