phospates at 0

i have a 140 DT and 30 gal sump,running filter socks,skimmer,GFO,and chaeto.tested phosphates with hanna ULS checker which continually reads 0.took the gfo offline for three days and phosphates jumped to 9(regular reading)My tank is mainly SPS so im looking to get a reading of 5.suggestions??
Feed more?additives?less GFO?i have about 14 fish.

How does the tank appear?
I might try using less GFO.

tank is doing great but i think my colors could be better...is there a balance with GFO?use less and phosphates will only reduce by so much?

No exact ratio to the level in the tank, but use less and export drops proportionally. Trial and error is the only way to really settle on an appropriate amount.
