Phosphate check!! What are your phosphate levels currently at?

I dont check my phosphates. 0 algae in the tank other than the flat surface coraline on some rocks or other algae that grows on rocks. Only hair in my tank is on the overflow on my hang on backs. If i do get hair algae growing. Most of my rocks are grey or white though

My 4 tangs find it and eat it before i notice it.

My nitrates are also 40ppm right now.

I use tap water. That has .25ppm phosphates in it. Last i checked my reef. It was at .25ppm. But then it could be lower as i only used a api kit which only goes in .25 increments. Here is a zoomed in pic of what my rock looks like.. and then s wide shot on my tank

Anywhere between 30ppb to 40ppb(.092 to .123ppm)

Hanna ULR. My reef has settled on this number. With 0 export other then a skimmer and filter socks. No matter how much I feed, my number is always right around .1

Which really confused me in the last couple weeks as I had a dino outbreak(confirmed with a microscope) even with higher then usual nutrients.

I keep it locked down very low at between 0 and 0.03 and if you do this you can avoid many of the problems we constantly read about.

If my Hanna reads zero I’m delighted because with error margins and the amount of fish in the system, it won’t actually be zero.

This is all controlled with rowaphos

.12 in display and 1.3 in frag system. Hanna ULR. The frag was tending higher for a while, so I jacked up my refugium hours.

I test once a week unless I am actively changing something up.

0.08 right now. Been stuck at that level for ages it feels like. Trying to get it to 0.05 and maintain that level. Using red sea test kit. I want to upgrade to a Hanna soon. I was running some GFO to try and get it down but it never budged, so I stopped using it to save some money. Might try some lanthium in a skimmer followed by filter floss to get it down slightly.

I recently set up an auto water change and both nitrate and phosphate im glad to report are declining. Phosphate - 0.07 Nitrate - 5
