I use a Hanna checker Phosphate ULR. Should i worry about that level? Also have some Algae growing on the sand bed now. should i worry if so what can i use to lower this. I am cutting back on feeding now, I do have some SPS in my mixed reef.

I wouldn’t worry. If you decide to lower it, be very careful and go slowly. But, I would be fine with that.

That level isn’t bad. I say the perfect level of Acropora color would be (0.03-0.05). That’s kinda pushing It close to the danger zone if your not providing enough nutrition for the corals. You don’t wanna get to zero levels or you’ll run into issues.

Like mentioned above, you could lower it slowly and try to target 0.05 or so, but be careful. I’d personally be fine with that number if I wasn’t trying to achieve maximum color. I’ve let mine get up to 0.3 and just slowly bring it down.

You could dose a little bit of iron to get those macro’s growing more to consume more PO4.

Retest today. .03 now maybe i just had a bad reading yesterday because my ALK went from 9.6 to 8.1 very odd.

Does Chem Pure remove that much? only 1 bag in sump rated for 50 gallons and my system is 170 total gallons.
