Hi all, recently set up my new tank using caribsea life rock and broken up established live rock. I currently have a phosphate reading of 0.24ppm. Could phosphate be leaching from the life rock?

I’ve added around 70g of rowaphos but it doesn’t seem to be lowering.

Thanks!

I think it's more common for new caribsea liferock to ABSORB phosphates.

The phosphates in your water are more likely coming from minor die-off on your live rock. If by "broken up" you mean you literally smashed up existing live rock, this is certainly a possibility. Unlikely to be a long-term problem, just stay on top of water changes/nutrient export to get things stabilized. 0.2ppm P does not bother anything in my experience, corals in fact like some phosphates and nitrates.

My No3 is 5ppm and I’ve been feeding heavy frozen mysis. Currently have 3 fish in there. Worried that water changes will bottom out my no3

I think you're fine where you're at. Is there any visible issue?
No visible issue so far, no sign of diatoms, aiprime is scheduled for 5 hours on low. There’s even a few mushrooms growing in the broken up live rock
