What is your preference brand of Po4 (Phosphate/Phosphorus) and No3 (Nitrate) checker?

I'm after a test kit where it would show me clear distinction in color (just like those Salifert Alk/Ca/Mg titration model).

With Phopshate, my candidate is Hanna checker .. either 713 or 736.

With Nitrate, I'm completely lost. API is good to tell the difference between low (yellow-ish) and high (orange-ish) but once you hit low, it's too hard to tell the exact ppm.

Any updates are much appreciated.

I have both hannah testers and their good. But i use elos professional p04 and its expensive. For nitrate, depends on what range your testing for, red sea can measure clearly from 0 to 4ppm. Nyos is good for just a ruff draft

@Sabellafella with Red Sea No3 test kit, can you tell the exact ppm? or will it be another guessing game?

with Nyos test kit, can you tell the exact ppm? or will it be another guessing game?

Just like API, it's a whole ***** of guessing game.

If you are to choose only one between these 3 brands for Nitrate test kits, which one would you choose?
  • Red Sea
  • Salifert
  • NYOS
Taking into consideration, how easy it is to distinguish the color and tell the exact ppm.
