ADVICE PRETTY PLEASE

I've stocked my tank with a couple of large specimens and it's now time to take action on phosphate. I'd like to run GFO but there's so many options out there for reactors.
HELP?

The phoseban 150 is a nice option and won't brake you. You might even find some used ones on hear.

+1 on the 2 Little Fishes 150. Solid unit. I've had mine for several years.

Ya the 2 little fish brand. I run one with gfo and another with carbon. I have them plumbed to a cobalt 900 and it works great.

The reason I asked for clarification was I had one (the 550 model) I was running it external and it leaked all over the place after 6 months. I'd like to stay away from that brand.

When ever I take my 150 out to replace the media, I take some silicon and lubricate the o-ring real good. Keeps the top from freezing up and keeps the seal good. It has helped me keep leaks from happening. You also should inspect the ring and if it has any nicks, replace it or you will have leakage.

I'm leaning heavily towards the AquaMax reactor. Anyone using that one?

I run 5 of those 2 little fish reactors, never had one leak other than getting a piece of granule in there when closing lid. Have to make sure threads are clean. Other than that they are good.

I have the GFO and its great. Phosphates been at "0" since. BTW, what does the carbon do for the tank. I have some Chemi Pure sitting in the sump, but been playing with the idea of having one in a reactor. Any noticeable differences?

Chemi pure is a mixture of gfo and carbon and some other stuff if your doing the elite pack. Be careful you dont over do it as you can make a change to quick. The carbon does a number of things.
