My tank has just finished cycling in the last couple of days. Six weeks from start to now. I tested the phosphate on Sunday and it was 0.02 today it’s 0.15.
The tank has started its ugly phase with what I think are dinos. I left it for a couple of days but yesterday I suctioned some of the algae off the sand and removed it, I ran the water through some filter floss and put it back in the tank.
I also have some filter floss in the side (it’s an all in one) I’m changing every day as it goes brown straight away from the algae.
I have two small clown fish and some soft corals. Everything is fine in the tank but wanted to see if I had done anything to cause the rise in phosphate. I’ve ordered some reef zlements all in one as my alk is only 5.8.
