A few weeks ago I dosed 6 drops Phosphate RX to my 29 gal biocube, right into the skimmer at night before lights out. It was at 0.193. The next morning a ton of the starfish were dead. Last night I dosed 2 drops and woke up to a similar event. Anybody else experience this? I'm trying to run Red Sea's coral program. So keeping levels low for color right now.

I have not experienced this at all. I've dosed as much as 30-40 drops in my 125 gallon system at a time with no ill effects. Maybe you got a bad batch or a knock-off?

Works on phosphates. Pretty sure it's the real product. Are there knock offs?

Are you running a filter sock? I always thought using LC required a filter sock.

Idk. I know that I bought mine from Amazon, and Amazon has recently started to crack down on counterfeit products. Let's face it, the labeling on the bottle is not overly difficult to duplicate, so someone could have make a fake version.

I would suspect that it is some other issue...are all of the other inverts doing okay?

Amazon too. Everything else is doing great and some do survive.

Very weird. I wonder if you got a bad batch or something. I did notice that it appeared that my Alveopora did not like the lanthanum chloride when I first started using it, but it doesn't even respond now.

Just counted it as nutrient export.

Have you tested for copper? Maybe there are copper levels high enough to kill these small starfish while other inverts are unaffected.

I haven't tested that. I would have to figure out how to get that done.

Will do. Been want to do a Triton test too. Maybe mows a good time.

If you do the Triton test, forget the copper test. I'm pretty sure the Triton will tell you copper.

Coincidence maybe but my tuxedo urchin passed after I used phosphateRX. I had it for 4 yrs.
