I currently use the API kit for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. I use Red Sea for Kh, Ca and Mg. What are some recommendations for a phosphate test that is somewhat affordable?

Thanks

Ian

I'm a fan of Hanna for this particular test, but since they're the same price I'd recommend going with the Hanna Phosphorus checker, since it reads in ppb, and has a better margin of error. It does require a little math to convert, or you can us this chart:

I use the first version of the Hanna Phosphate checker (6 years old) and I find the the thing very unreliable. I call it my random number generator. You can take the test 3 times in succession and get 3 very different numbers.
I would go with a quality test kit like Elos and save some money, or get the Phosphorus checker ( I have no experience with this one) that downbeach recommended.
