What's the safest way to lower phosphates? My api kit is really blue.I cut down on my feeding and vacuuming like crazy.

keep in mind that API has the most unreliable phosphate tester of all, its not accurate and should not be trusted.

Before making any drastic changes (such as cutting down feeding or adding chemicals), I would suggest to double check the phosphate level on a proper test kit.

After testing with a quality test kit to verify the result, then you need to determine where the phosphate is coming from. Is coming from fish food? If so, which kind of fish food. If you started with new dry rocks, then it could be leaching phosphate into the water, therefore reducing the feeding will have no affect. Part of this hobby is like CSI or detective work lol
