can't seem to get rid of them.tried phosphate media. tried reactor. still hanging around1%.tank gets direct sunlight for about an hour in the morning.could that be it?help me please

my filtration is very simple, and i have 0. sump with a skimmer, filter sock, and 2 reactor's...one has GFO, and one with carbon. just have to make sure you change out the media. i have no rock, or cheato, or any of that in ther....dont think a fuge helps unless it is big....really big.....IMHO

i like the KISS method....Keep It Simple Stupid

how much Phosphate do you have? Most kits read like .01, .1, 1 etc...

Easiest thing to do is use Iron Oxide Phosphate Remover and remember that 1 gram removes approx 1ppm PO4 per gallon. But to keep it low you must use good RO/DI water for WC and top-off.

You need to test your phosphate on a meter rather than a test kit.... They are becoming cheaper.. I believe a company released one for reef keepers that is like.. 60 bucks.
