Hey guys so I was using red Sea to test my phosphate and I always have a reading of 0.64 ppm and I just got the Hanna checker and it come to be 0.22 I think it's too high so I wanna now how to lower my phosphate down I have a mix reef aquarium

How big is your tank? How old is it? Is that the ULR checker? Are you running a skimmer? Socks? Water change routine? Nitrates?

Hanna checker ULR phos unit is the only unit i know of that is more precise in lower range than regular kits out in market.

If it's not a large tank then a few good water changes could help. So could some gfo but use cautiously as it can lower PO4 in a hurry. Having a fuge set up would be great as a steady longterm solution as well as possibly cutting the amount of PO4 going into your system. IE over feeding.

Water changes, if your nitrate isnt detectable then raise it (which can help process phosphate), algae turf scrubber, wet skim, vacuuming sanded.

You can also use Phosphate X, GFO, etc but start with a really small amount and go very very slowly.

It's a 30 gallon tall tank it's been up for 10 months and 23 days I do have a protein skimmer it's from a biocube tank and I do five gallon water change every Saturday and the nitrates are at 50 ppm
