Hi!

For the past months i have had mostly 0.00 Phosphates, and twice 0,04 and once 0,03. I'm using a Low Range Hanna checker. Not ideal for this, but i got one so i'll just use it :) I have been dosing 4 ml every now and then, but three weeks ago i decided to see how much i need to dose to get it up to a good level, like maybe 0,05 or around there. I started with 5.5 ml and on Saturday i added 9ml NeoPhos. Yesterday, as usual i had 0.00. So i added 10 ml, because at some point i would get a reading, right? If i only would get a small reading on my Hanna i know how much i need to use daily to keep my tank healthy.

At the same time i cleaned the drain pipe and fed..... well i think a bit to much (clam!), and cleaned a bit of algae in the sump, because my Phosphate level never is a problem anyway! Yay.... well that idea of awesomeness came right back and bit me in the ¤%""!#¤#!

As the title says today i got 0,29..... is now the time to panic or do i just wait until tomorrow and see how things look? I have only a few SPS and they look normal. Zoas too... apart from 4 heads that is slightly closed.

I guess i skip feeding tomorrow? Oh, and i also noticed a brown algae film on my front glass, and some on the back glass as well. Nothing on the rock. I think my rock is absorbing a lot of the Phosphates.

I change 10+% water weekly / sometimes bi-weekly, and i vacuum the sandbed too. I pretty often blow of the rocks to get rid of the crap. My tank is 8 months old. I have a refugium with Chaeto and Gracillia and another type of macro that i can't remember the name of. The latter two is recently added and still small frags.

Any ideas of what to do right now...? i wouldn't want to wake up to a dead tank! :(

0.29 ppm phosphates in itself is not something to worry about. The change from from 0 to 0.29 might cause problems but I doubt it. I would let it come down naturally on its own.

Thanks! I tested twice after and now it reads a normal 0,00 again, so it was a testing error. Now i know also that if i at some point would reach Phosphates around 0,29 i may not worry to much :)
