So I have been doing phosphate testing on my RO water and both my tanks. My tanks are testing around .8 which is very high and my RO water is testing around .3. I know I need To have them below .2 for my reef tank what can I do to lower them and what should I look at to store my RO water in because obviously my containers are leaking phosphates

It's my own personal system. Tested my tap water and it is at like .6 so my RO is half of my tap. The ro water that is .3 was water I made today. I tested ro water that had been in my holding tank and it was at .7. So I know I need new holding containers but what can I do to get them down in my tank. Also my RO system is 2 months old and have all new filters and membranes.

I use 1 gallon jugs of great value purified drinking water only because I work at walmart and get a discount :D. I have never had any Phosphate problems. I don't know if its because of where the water is coming from or what. I use a hanna checker for my phosphate. Of course this only works if your a small to medium size tank.

You can run phosphate binding media such as GFO to deal with your current phosphate issue in your main tank. You can use either a reactor to fluidize the GFO or buy something like Chemipure Products which has the GFO in a small sack. The reactor is much more efficient in binding phosphate versus the the bagged GFO but it can quickly drop your phosphates which can be problematic at times.

I do have a Red Sea kit just don't know how old it is. Will that l test fresh water accurately?
