I started running a bag of Tropic Marin ElimiPhos a week ago to try to pull my phosphates down. They were at 0.046ppm a week ago. I tested yesterday and today with separate cuvettes using my Hanna ULR Phosphorus kit and came up with .07ppm both times and days.

I recognize this could be testing error. Could there be another explanation? Increased algae die off from the phosphate remover?

Finally, is GFO more powerful at removing phosphates?

It could be the cuvettes. I’ve had testing error with Hanna Checkers. I cleaned them with vinegar and that took care of it.

As far as GFO, I’ve found it to be very effective in reducing phosphates. Good luck!

Even with the phosphate reducer still in there? I just ordered GFO.

Oh, I didn't realize it was in a bag . It may just be depleted, or needs remixing to expose new particles from deep down.
