Hello SPS heads,

so i noticed that some of my rocks are green and i put a new ceramic frag holder in my tank and it turned green with about 2 weeks. I was using the normal phosphate checker and could not tell what it was. Finally got the Hanna phosphorus checker and its reading 165.. i think this equates to 165 X 3.066 /1000 = .5 phosphate.

is this correct and if so this is way to high and probably hurting my sps right? what are the ideal ranges.. i am about to run some chemipure elite with phosphate removal but want to make sure i dont overdue it.. i have a 29 gallon biocube and the chemipure is rated up to 50 gallons..

thanks

so i just ran the phosphorus checker again after about 15 hours of using the chemi pure elite and now it says 117ppb... so i guess its going down. i am going to wait another 24 hours and then check again..... seems to be working..

Try to reduce your PO4 slowly. Reducing it too fast can cause more harm that having high PO4 in the first place.
