Phosphorus purchase

That is probably your easiest route.

Not having all the details and pictures of your set up, other easy options are Feed less and Macro algae.

It will be helpful to test all the parameters of the ocean water you are using.
Here in Florida we only collect on incoming tides when there hasn't been a lot of rain or reports of red tide algae blooms.

I can use nopox no more cos it’ll strip my last bit of po4 so I’m switching to vinegar until Monday I go the lfs , Agreed?
Unless nitrates come down with the vinegar

There’s no reason to think NOPOX and vinegar cause different effects with respect to N and P.

Neither nopox or vinegar have no effect is that?

Nopox has brought my po4 from .47 to .03, not running any gfo or alike

I'm saying the effect on phosphate is much smaller than the effect on nitrate for at least three different, understood reasons (denitrification, the N/P ratio in organisms using the organic, and phosphate release from rock and sand when it starts to drop).

Most folks see very little, if any, reduction in P when dosing organic carbon.

Not sure what you observed or why, but if real and lasting, it is very different than most folks observe. That big of a phosphate drop caused by organic carbon dosing would require a very large drop in nitrate.

The big unknown here appears to be that you mentioned using naturally collected seawater.

Is all you water collected that way or are you using a Salt Mix too?
No I’ve never done a water change before, only because I boosted calcium to 650 that I need to

Don’t think I need phosphate up

I had this happen 2-3 weeks ago
Got a 0.03 reading one day then the next .47
Guess it’s coming out the rocks
Nitrates same at 75
Maybe the nopox will bring both down more equally rather than strip the phosphate and leaving the nitrates

100ltr changed (20%)

Salinity 1.025
Phos .50 (guessed) looks the same blue as last test)
Nitrate .50 (ish) see photo and judge yourself
Kh 8.3
Mag 1500+ 2ml more out the syringe which if I’m right is a further 300
Calc 500+ 4ml more out the syringe which I’m right is a further 200

Because these figures do not add up to a 20% reduction in not relying on numbers but let the nem tell me it’s ok
Today is half open
Tomorrow will be another 100ltr change and hopefully that’ll be enough for it to be happy again

100 ltr change (20%)
Results are :

No3 100 (gone up!)
Mag 1680
