Photo bucket scaling down photos

Is it just me or does anybody else notice that photo bucket automatically scales down the quality of the photos… I hope I'm wrong but it's starting to be more more noticeable to me… Does anybody know if this is true and if so where can I find another hosting site that doesn't do this? Thanks!

Yes they do. I don't believe the quality is changed if you have paid account.

Do you have a better source to upload to… I've been using photo bucket for years and for some reason never noticed it until recently

What are your upload setting set to? Any chance they got changed?

I just don't upload big files anyway given their usage policies of any image you put on their site.

Hmm..I don't know where would I find that out? What site do you use to upload to?

You should do all of the pre-converting on your computer yourself. You can do a higher quality job than if photobucket gets a huge jpged from your camera and does the scaling itself.

Hmm..I don't know where would I find that out? What site do you use to upload to?

When you're at the upload page, click the gear at the upper right corner, to select upload size. 1024 x 768 is the biggest listed for the free account.

I started using flickr about 3 months ago because I got so frustrated with photobucket's quality (even with my paid account I noticed poor image quality). I like photobucket's cataloging but flicker allows you to post in several different sizes, which is nice if you post to forums that limit image sizes.
