I am reading and re-reading the post from Battle Corals about exposing the truth for photos that many vendors and even wholesalers do. I noticed that this has been shown only under Canon cameras and not Nikons (which i own the d5300 to be exact) I am wondering if anyone knows how to custom white balance on a Nikon to blast through the blues and get unreal pictures??

set the camera to the highest WB 10,000+. and reduce the blue in the led.

Are you trying to take the blue unreal pictures or do you want to set your camera up for good pictures under normal lighting? Anyhow, I own a Canon and cant help. Just trying to clarify your intentions

Blue and unreal just to see if it works

I have a Nikon D7000 and I do exactly what saltyfilmfolks suggested. I have a custom white balance feature but it just gives me an error message if I try to set it under blue lights. I'm sure you can play with the raw images in Photoshop and make your purple corals looks orange if you really want to do that.

Do you have a link to this battle corals thread?

So how do you do this in the setting then?

I would google "d5300 white balance" and watch a youtube video. Watching a video and following along is always easier than someone trying to explain it here.

Me myself is a newbie,trial
and error lol. But these settings work for me. I'm using Nikon D7200 witj Tokina 100ATX Pro lens.I just bump up the white light to 90%, blue to 10%. ISO at 400, 1/100, f2.8. WB to 8k. Here are some samples:

Great shots! I use the D7000 with the same lens. if you are using a tripod, try the aperture priority mode instead of full manual. It automatically sets the ISO and shutter speed for you and you can lengthen the f stop to give you more depth of field. You have to have a tripod though, because the shutter speed will be super long. I don't think you would get better pictures than those, but it is a little easier.
