What brand media reactors for VERY fine purigen?

I tried it with using filter floss in a two little fishies reactor. Honestly I would just keep it in a bag. It becomes a mess if it gets through.

The DI resin canister for RO units could work if you get a pump hooked up. You just need incredibly slow flow

Thanks I am frustrated that th e bag seems to be the only easy option. Seachem should make media reactors for Purigen they seem to make everything else!

Out of curiosity, is there something that you are looking for the purigen to specifically wanting to achieve with the purigen?


Also, I wonder if their aquavitro reactors would work. I have never seen one though

Aquamax fr-s is what I use for gfo and would work for purigen.
I also use an old chemipure nylon sock and just hang it in the sump.

Just thinking out loud here.

I have an empty one of these laying around. I use them as a final cleanup after my R.O.D.I system. Could I just fill it up with purigen and/or phosguard and run it that way? I could plumb it into my manifold for slow flow. They have filters at both ends to keep the resin in so that should work for keeping other media in.

I like to try and find ways to reuse things instead of just throwing them away. I like the idea of using purigen and recharging it instead of just throwing carbon away.

Honestly I am no longer am a supporter of seachem after many years. See my post yesterday of their matrix. Purigen IMO is overhypped and a pain to use even their media bags are too expensive and a waste of money. People make a big deal about their tidal filters but you cannot use them in aquaterrariums and AQUACLEAR filters are the best in my opinion. The freshwater sellers do a great job of hawking their filters . But no one mentions the grinding noise if the water level drops. Again slick marketing and u cannot use them like aquaclears in different setups. Polyfilters which change color and activated carbon or chemipure are my choices. I am a Medical pathologist and I now prefer the media I just mentioned. Sera siporax and eheim ehfisubstrate are great biomedia . purigen is just NOT worth the hype and time in my opinion Just my two cents.
