Hey guys-

My photoshop is messed up, and adobe is closed, and I need to edit this image tonight.

I go in and open a image, and nothing happens, the image will not pop up, instead, I get the checkerboard grey and white file.

The times that my image does open, part of it will be there, and part of it will not. And the weird part is, the parts that are there, are zoomed in up super close.

Is my photoshop broken? Lol

Does it do this to only this one image or to others, too? Have you opened this file in another image editor/viewer to see if the issue isn't with the file? Or is it a .psd?

Mac? You can trash the prefs files, then load up photoshop again. I don't think it will affect your brush presets, but make a backup of the prefs just in case. There might be some similar process for PCs.

Does it to every image after I edit them in the RAW window. When I open the RAW images, they will show up in the RAW editing window, but wont after I click open file.

And yeah, editing on Mac...

I had some issues a while back and done a reset and the problem was solved. It may work for you or may not. Go to Restore All Preferences To Default Settings. PS is so complex that it dont take much to screw up setting just by hitting a couple keys or in my case a cat walking across my keyboard while editing.

Adobe Photoshop CS5 * Preferences

If I reset it and do what it says above, will I loose my brush presets that I made?

My "watermark" is a brush preset. Like below:
