Could REALLY REALLY use some advice/help on dealing with what i believe is a phyto bloom, green water in my tank. If someone is able to help and give advice id be so grateful, please message me !!

Did you dose phyto. Phytoplankton will get consumed by animals in your reef tank like cocepods. You can run a uv if you liked. If it's just dirty greenish water you may need to run carbon to clear the water up.

Hi! I have not dosed ANYTHING. I amd running nitrate pad, phosphate pad, and carbon. The only thing i have put in the tank is my fish's food (frozen mysis) and in very small doses. I mean single pieces at a time untill she is full. All of my corals are looking awesome. But this is now the 3rd time its happened to me. This is a brand new tank in a sense that it was filled with 100% cycled water from a different tank. All filtration and sand is new [emoji30] thank you for replying

What are you running for filtration? Lights? It sounds like you're running a piggy back filter. Any skimmer?
I have the fluval evo, ive got that custom media basket, with the two nitrate pads and phosphate pads and rox carbon. Heater, and a power head. Temp is at 78 at all times, tank is not in sunlight, and there are only my corals, new sand, and my clown fish in the tank. Running stock lighting.

Since this is the third time this happens how did you clear it up?
I didnt! [emoji23] long story short. I had a small 10gal tank running with sand and a heater and that was it. It had been running for months. So when after i tried huge water changes and not dosing my phyto plex, i finally gave up and moved all corals and my fish to the small 10 gal. I have a friend with a very well established tank with no issues. So i took apart my tank and cleaned it to desth. Added new sand. All new filtration and used my friends water to 100% start the tank over. So now were two weeks in, and i have put NOTHING in this tank except my fishes food. I have one clown. She eats frozen mysis. I literally feed her one piece at a time untill she is full to avoid over feeding. Im at a loss. [emoji30]

Personally I would just wait it out. Just keep doing your water changes and remember this hobby is a waiting game. Let the system mature on its own. Remember nothing good in reef tanks happens Fast especially in nano tanks.

I saw someone said vodka dosing worked for them, anyone know anything about this or suggest it ?

I struggled with it. My water was opaque. Cleared in about a week with UV. Check post #100 of my build thread.

Personally in my 16 month of reefing I have never dosed anything. So I don't have any experience with that to be honest.

There are small hang on type UV but really easier in a sump.
A skimmer will help too. They make decent hang on if you don't have a sump. IMO best is AquaC brand for that with an upgraded pump.
It's hard to keep saltwater with minimal equipment.

AA Aquarium Green Killing Machine Internal UV Sterilizer is what I used. I believe there is more than one size. I used a large one and just tossed it into my sump. Not sure which would fit in your set up. Local big box pet shops carry them.

If there's no space just toss it in the display. It won't be there long.

Ive got a fluval evo 13.5

Get the skimmer that is made for it. I think there is a quick mod people do in order to make it work better.
Do you have fully cycled live rock in your system? You can also add more as rubble in the back.
Those are nice little setups. My Son has one. I think when we checked it with a PAR meter he was close to 200 at the top of his rocks.
You might be able to hang a small UV on the back, I'm not sure. Might have to take the lid off for a few days.

Tanks still take a while to cycle. Some strange stuff will happen in the first few months. Don't keep cleaning and starting over; let it mature. Get some cycled live rock. The UV will likely help some in the short term.
