Hi guys
Got this little guy on Sunday and was just wondering if you could help me out identifying what's on his side? Just behind his fin. Is it ich or am I stressing out coz he's my new guy?
Thanks in advance

No there isn't what I can see its that bit just above the black bit behind her fin like a grey/blue colour, last night she was rubbing that bit in the sand.

New to her surroundings, may have gotten a booboo. It snot ich.

:) What a relief, first clowns as you probably guessed ha lfs have kept them for 2 weeks as I seen them the day they come in and wanted to be sure they're OK with the amount they cost. Woke up this morning seen that and nearly cried.
Thanks for your help, think I need a dose of vodka now.

I don't see anything in the pic that is concerning. However, when a fish is rubbing on the sand that can mean there's cause for concern. Especially a new fish.

Is he/she fanning the sand with his/her tail? Or just rubbing that one area?

She does at night yeah she rubbed that side a few times then started a sand storm by fanning with the tail? It's only that side I've seen her rubbing not both sides of her.

Could be so many things or perhaps nothing at all. I would just keep a close eye on her for now.

Ok thank you. Is there anything else I should be looking out for?
As in do you have something in mind?

Assuming this fish was not QT'd, ich and flukes are always a concern since both can harbor in the gills out of sight.

I also worry about Brooklynella with new clownfish - even tank bred ones. Tank bred clowns are very common nowadays and will sometimes come into contact with wild caught ones at wholesale facilities.

I suggest reading up on all 3 diseases, to familiarize yourself with the behavioral symptoms just in case: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/fish-diseases-101.189284/

Even if there is nothing wrong with your clownfish, educating yourself on these diseases will only help you down the road.
