R.I.P Dotty... I've been trying to catch a few fishes to lessen some bio load so the Picasso's can enjoy better water quality. I've had the fish trap on the same location for about 3-4 nights and unfortunately, Dotty found a crevice and sneaked in. he wasn't able to get out. sad sad day. another hard lesson learned. never put your trap near a corner with no gaps in between the trap and the glass. hope someone else will learn from this so they don't have to experience this mishap. although, we always try to do the best for our fishes and corals, it doesn't always turn out the way we plan it.

no worries. I'm sure I'll get over it just like every other loss we come across this hobby. I just need to step back and look at the big picture. it's a hobby and things are bound to happen. at least it wasn't my fault this time around.

I will have pics to remember and will sport him as an avatar for a while. :)

I already talk to Brian (my breeder) to keep an eye out for another one just like Dotty.

after a lot of thinking back and forth, I narrowed down my collection to about 15 clownfish. I got rid of the 3 Platinum as I can see them being too mean to the Picasso's and they have formed a gang so they would chase away who ever gets near their territory. Also, let go of 6 Picasso's. They all went to good homes so I'm not worried about them. I'll have to re do my thread so you guys can tell me if I made the right choice on selecting the best Picasso's. :)

I can't believe it's almost a year since I brought home the clowns. man, time flies! :)

Do you keep them different anemones? I had a wild caught onyx in the past with the black fading in a RBTA. Would be interesting to know if the rate of black development in the clowns varies with different types of anemones.

They have lost a lot of black by being hosted by the BTA's. The Picasso's that don't hang out in the BTA's during photo period have a little more black than the ones that are constantly in the BTA's. I have added an Onyx (C Quest lineage) to see if it loses some black in the long run. Only time will tell. :)

Wonder if clowns in the wild hosted by bta also lose their black
Very nice clowns regardless

I don't think BTA's are natural host for Percs in the wild.

Thanks for the kudos. :)
