I have a 750 gallon tank with some corals, shrimp, snails and crabs of all sorts and I'm wondering if a Picasso Trigger would be a safe ish addition to the tank? there's a local keeper who has one available in a tank with corals and it seems to be coral safe, I'm just worried about all the inverts?

He might leave the corals alone.

If hes hungry he will not leave inverts alone. I've seen them shred large CB shrimp literally minutes after being introduced to a new tank. Not my 5ank either.

Cool fish, but they are really smart and consumate troublemakers if there is anything to bully.

I kept one for a while in a reef tank.....as a juvenile he was a model citizen. As soon as he matured, he plowed through all of my inverts one by one (with the cleaner shrimp as the one exception). The coral should all be fine.

Dang, its a really nice one, so what you're saying is I'll be spending a lot of money on crabs if I get it? lol

Really beautiful fish.
Do they eat snails and hermits, or urchins and crabs and shrimp?
I've got a blue spotted puffer who whacks crabs and some snails, if they turn over, but doesn't bother blood shrimp or hermits or my harlequin.

Lol yes, definitely. In my case, urchins, starfish, crabs, shrimp, and cowries :-( Somehow he even managed to dispatch a pretty large long spined urchin.

My Humu was a jerk when i was running my aggressive tank. Killed a smaller diamond goby, had to find a larger 4-5 inch one just so it wouldnt bug it. It wouldn't bug my green brittlestar, but shrimp, gobies, etc all fair game to them. Not to mention all the dang snails it ate, started to burn a hole in my wallet.

Just a thought, mimic?! ;)
