Ok thanks. I’m trying to figure out what fish I want first. From there, I’ll make sure that the tank is set up appropriately for them and also in what order that I want to add the fish so that there’s the lease amount of stress as possibleProbably add the angels after the tangs
Wow!!!! That must be an amazing tank to sit back and enjoy watching650 gallons on the display, 200 gallons ties up in the basement filtration.
Ok. Thank you very much. I’m hoping to make the transition of all these fish as peaceful and easy as possibleI don’t think it really matters if you add tangs before or after angels, as there is really little to no interaction between them.
How hard was it to get him to eat? I read that they have problems adapting to aquarium life because of the food. I’ve started thinking about this fish a bit more since they managed to captive breed it
I bought him when it was around 7” and have had it for almost 2 years. Growth really slows down once they become an adult.Really nice. How long did it take for your Queen angel to get to 8”?
I’m hoping to put the angels all in the same time and the same thing wilts they tangs. I have a 55 gallon qt tank that I’m setting up and I also have a roughly 100 gallon rubber made that I will also be using as a qt tank I’m hoping to get all my fish in the 2 inch range. I’m also wanting as much of my fish as possible to be captive bred. I’m hoping that will also help on the aggression issues that might arise. I understand that each fish has a different temperament however I’m trying to do it in a way that will give the fish the best chance and at the same time, my wallet the best chance lolAlso fish size is going to matter. Ie Adding a yellow tang to a juvenile angel usually will well, but if that yellow is the size of a half dollar and the angel is 3”
unless its my pygmy yellow tail. He hates all fish. at 1.5” will relentlessly chase any fish even if its 5x his size lol. had to add several other fish at once to keep his focus diverted from one target.
I read that the French angel grows quickly. It would be great if it slowed down when it got to roughly 5-7 inches.I bought him when it was around 7” and have had it for almost 2 years. Growth really slows down once they become an adult.
My French angel was tiny when I added it, around 2” and has almost doubled in size in 8 months.
I added the Emperor at the same time as the Queen and it was a juvenile. It is now starting to transition to an adult. I love the pattern of the juvenile emperor.
The Emperor was very aggressive towards the French when I added it, however within a few days everyone was getting along great.
My tank is 8’ x 3’ & 30” tall.
In a fowlr there are also always butterfly fish.I read that the French angel grows quickly. It would be great if it slowed down when it got to roughly 5-7 inches.
I would love to have an angel that stayed exactly like the juvenile emperor it’s whole life.
I would love one or two butterflies. Not sure about getting two different ones or a pair though. In a fowlr there are also always butterfly fish.
Most Have virtually no aggression to non conspecifics. Myriad of patterns from the Pakistani to hawaiian blue stripe. Much less prone to hlle, but a little more delicate to shipping and bacterial infections.

The Pakistani butterfly is beautifulI was thinking a trio or quintet of Pakistani Butterflies!
I was just reading up on the Declivis the other day. How is it’s temperament? They look so similar to the Tinkeri butterflyI have my angels & a Declivis butterfly in my reef tank. So far they have only eaten zoas. All my SPS & LPS are untouched.
Did you get the purple tang when he was bigger or was he/she like that when they were smaller as well. The Declivis is a lot cheaper then the Tinkeri if I’m not mistakenThe Declivis is the only butterfly I have in my tank and he gets along with everyone, great fish but a little expensive.
The only really mean fish I have is my large purple tang, but he only bothers other tangs, doesnt even look at the angels or butterfly.
Oh wow!!! I thought it was in the 100-200 range. So at that price, I guess it’ll come down to what one would be more of the ideal citizen. Your Declivis is a model citizen?Seems like the declivis is catching up to the tinkeri in price. Not quite as expensive (400 to 800 range) as the tinkeri (>700)
