I have a 40g L (4 feet long) frag tank that's been up for about 3 months which is "fishless". I wanted it this way so i did not have to put a skimmer and other equipment on the tank--keep this tank simple.......

I can't stand all of the pods and shrimp in this tank. When i go to grab a frag i have dozens of pods and shrimp crawling all over me. The worst is when i go to cut something on the bandsaw and when i'm slicing thru i get a face full of brine shrimp:crossedlips:

I know a 6 line would be good, but i already have one in my display and want to get something that i dont already have

so................pick one for me that will eat some of these guys........

Really any wrasse will do! I would get a nice fairy wrasse if I were you.

if the only fish in the tank, how about a pair of mccullochi dottybacks? beautiful fish, but meeeeeeeean mofos!

nah... just other fish aggressive. one of my favorites, but never been able to keep them due to the aggression.

the males are stunning.

sorry - didn't know there was a budget. as the saying goes... you get what you pay for.

definitely not as prone to jumping as a wrasse.

Why not do one of those DIY screen mesh tops? Then you can get a wrasse :D

i actually have all the materials left over from when i "attempted" to build one for my bowfront, so it's an option.....

so just need to narrow it down to which wrasse is great at eating shrimp and looks great too.....

Pretty much any fish, besides clowns, will need some rock or some kind of hiding place for a sense of security and to sleep :D

You may not have problems with wrasse jumping if there's no other fish in there to startle it...
