Setting up a 48x18x31 tall reef tank. I have read and read on skimmers and have concluded Reef octopus seem to be most favorite for this size in terms of function and reliability. Given that, would you guys get Super Reef Octopus 2000sss or Reef Octopus Diablo XS200? My sump is pretty narrow so I have to fit under 12" by 12". Height under 30".

Will you be able to put the skimmer on a platform in ~ 5"-6" of water, and still have enough head room? The Diablo has a footprint larger than 12" x 12".

Yes. Diablo 225ss listed as 9"x9.5"
