Picked up a gorgonian today.

Ugh.....not a good update from me. Both are still alive, but I haven't seen them open up and take nourishment for about a month. And thank you for reminding me about this thread because I was driving myself nuts trying to figure out WHY they were no longer doing well. Forgot that the success rate was low. :(

Dang, such a bummer!! Fingers crossed you can bring 'em back!

Hmmmmm..... wondering if I should move them (or at least one of them) into my small seahorse fry tank which is constantly full of newly hatched BBS.
Sue

I'm new and a still catching on to all of the lingo.. what’s BBS? Baby Seahorses?

Any updates? Love this coral!
It's doing ok. Opens all the time and I feed it either reef roids or reef chili every chance I get. Usually once a day maybe twice. I haven't seen any new growth so I doubt it's thriving but it still looks nice.

This thread may be helpful to you. This guy seems to have good success and feeds the whole reef nutrition line, live brine shrimp, a couple dry foods, phyto, and cultured pods.

Might try feeding Oyster Feast - I've had pretty good luck with it.

That looks very much like my own yellow or tan, one has white polyps, the other outwardly looks identical but has tan polyps. I also have an orange and 4 purple of varying species. The daily food I use is Rods Food+ ReefRoids. After I defrost the food, I pour off the water into a separate cup, mix generously with ReefRoids, and target feed them. On alternate days they get zooplankton & phytoplankton. I've had a couple of them a few months now, 2 purples are newish, and so far so good *knock on wood*
Hope this helps!
