Picking the right Mantis

With a little luck a week from now I can post a picture of my beast!

Well it has been a long wait but I have my Peacock Mantis! Picked him up this afternoon. He has been hiding in the rocks since i put him in the tank but finally poked his head out for a picture! I am so stoked! Not the best picture but I am happy he is settling in his new home!

He finally settled in and found the pvc tunnel i made for him. I am for some reason assuming it is a male. I have no idea really. I just know he/she is awesome!

He is still doing awesome! I lowered my lights to 50%blue and 5% white, green and red. Trying to let him get used to things!

Gotta get a look at the underside to determine that. It’s pretty easy to do on a larger mantis.

Yeah but in the last pic you should be able to see the tell tale v shape of a male after the last set of legs... Also color seems more female. Males are more green. No?
