This fish arrived 4 days ago. Current being treated by supplier in copper, general cure, paraguard, and methylene blue. As of yesterday, it hasn't eaten yet but I guess that is normal for new angels. Any suggestions to entice it to eat?

I also need some advise on best way to acclimate this fish and introduce it into my DT. I was thinking of QT first, but I have no QT tank that can support a fish this size.

Is it wild caught or a trade in from another hobbyists? Large wild caught angels are difficult to transition to aquarium life. I wouldn’t bring it home unless you see it eating

Wild caught. I will bring it only if I see it eat.

I have gotten all finicky fish I've ever had to eat with live blackworms. Even if they don't eat them at first they eventually will within a few days.

Other than that pe mysis, fresh cut up shrimp and clams (fresh but frozen before cutting) works well too. Add a little garlic or entice to get them more interested.

Nori on a clip is great too though that may take a little longer for them to eat starting out but allows them available food should they start exploring the tank. Romaine lettuce also takes awhile for them to discover but will not fall apart and dirty your tank if left all day (my emperor loves it my queen doesn't touch it)

My emperor and queen didnt want to eat initially either but now they eat literally everything I feed them.

Congrats on the HUGE Emperor!!! It's an amazing fish and the grunts from one that big will be awesome to hear too! Show some pics when you get him home.

I don't want to be this guy, but I would definitely suggest running it through a full treatment before addition and making sure it is eating well before moving it again. This must be a huge system what size do you have?
