i have a 3 gallon pico and i challenge everyone to something. full running tank for less than 100$ in equipment. so far mine has come out to about 65$. for a ato a grow light and a clamp on fixture and a pump. the growlight should heat the tank but i do have a nano heater if need be. this is just a idea rn. id either do some clown gobies and other obligate coral dwelling fishes with natural wild caught sps and make a coral dominant tank or i would do macro tank with a feather duster, some softies, and a brown rock flower and gorgonians. it has a vertical footprint. i was either thinking a few different gobiodon or rough head blenny and hasslet goby.

IMO it's borderline putting fish in a tank that size but just an opnion.

I love the idea of a tank compitition, maybe propose to the mods of making it an official challenge.

Having a stable tank at that size for under $100 retail would be a challenge indeed.

Good luck/happy reefing.

I've recently picked up a 2nd hand Fluval spec 10L/ 2 gallon (£25) . Bare bottom but media, rock + water taken from existing tank, x2 coral on BOGOF (£30), white/blue LED (£8.99), 3d Printed wave flow output nozzle (£6) and finally a 2nd hand old ATO (£2).Total cost £71.99 or $99.85.... Job done with change...not to brag! :D

Tank is to be ultra low care coral wise, i'm thinking riccordia garden, rock nem possibly, softies and possibly a torch if i'm feeling adventurous. It currently has some galaxia and the old favourite, pulsing Xenia. Not sure on any inverts just yet but it's too small for fish of course.

Whilst I love the simplicity of it, i'm terrible for never being happy, so this is probably going to be upgraded very soon to a better light and possibly a rescape with rubble rather than one big rock.

I hope yours is looking good!

I wouldn't suggest any fish in there but I suggest some really dope inverts like pom pom crabs and sexy shrimp.
