So I was searching for a replacement pico tank as my first tank was super difficult to clean (sump area was too narrow for my hand) and came across Oceanbox Designs pico frag tank and just had to have it. It's been a few months and I've finally got it wet and hooked up to an Apex Classic I used on my old 20gallon.

The plan is to fill this thing with LPS with a special emphasis on blastos and acan. May get one or two easy SPS but I really want to focus on growing the LPS frags out.

Equipment is pretty simple: 80gph return Pump, cobalt easy therm 25w heater, aquasmart micro ATO, and an Aquamaxx Nemo LED light fixture.

This is a bare bottom tank with 6 marine pure spheres in the back compartment. I plan on using Red sea's blue bucket and with weekly water changes I don't see the need to dose. I've got alk/calc if adjustments are needed.

Its nowhere near set up the way but here's it's current state. It's still cycling so hopefully I can get some live stock in there in a couple of weeks.

Inside the stand (please ignore the 'cord management', that's for another time)

Just finished checking out the PAR reading and while running both channels at 100% (factory default) in getting numbers as low as 50 and as high as 250. Decent spread throughout so I'm stoked that I shouldn't have to do too much tinkering.

Also got my ammonia level down to zero so I'm going to ghost feed 1 more time and hopefully I can say this tank is fully cycled and can pick up some corals this weekend!

There is life in the tank!! Picked up two blastomussa wellsi and one blastomussa merletti from @uniquecorals and they are acclimating nicely. Super happy with my purchase and can't wait to see these suckers grow!

Went to check on the blastos yesterday and saw that they were still scrunched up with mouths open so I decided to lower the light intensity to 10%. Checked on them today and they are much happier so I'll just increase the light intensity a little bit every week. Its nice that LEDs provide more flexibility then just shortening the time the lights are on. Means I still get to enjoy them for a long period of time.

Purple blasto ate today! Looks like it has settled in and it ate a mysis shrimp head. The red and maroon weren't up for the challenge yet, so I sprinkled in some oyster feast and watched the perk up.

Glad to hear that your blasto is reacting to our Oyster-Feast! Let me know how things go.
