I have a standard rectangle 2.5 gal tank (I feel like it's actually smaller, I need to recheck), and I want to do a pico pest tank. Looking for some guidance since I've never done a tank this small.
A tank of just those corals and critters no one wants. GSP, Xenias, Aptasias.. rejected crabs and such. No fish. Maybe a shrimp of sorts for some activity (Donations of rejected corals welcomed!)
I can't decide if I want to go bare bottom or have sand. Trying to find the pro's and cons, so advice here would be appreciated.
I have an old HOB filter rated for 10 gals I am planning on using in leu of a powerhead- it should push enough water (of not, then I have a nano powerhead to use). I plan on putting seeded sponge from my existing sump and maybe some rubble.
I have a PAR 38 bulb for plenty of light. and a heater (may have to get a smaller one, this heater is rated for 10-20 gals)
am I missing anything? I want to keep it simple.
