I’m wanting to start a pico reef, I have a 3 gallon plastic bowl thing I had a goldfish in. I just want to do corals. It has a black lid which I know I can’t use because of the light so I’d take it off, but can the bulb I have to use melt the plastic or will I be okay? I know with glass jars usually the jar lid is left on to prevent evaporation. I’ll post a picture of my old goldfish bowl.

It’s doable...I think I’d go with something that is glass and has a lid for aesthetic and functional...if you want to use that you will definitely need to make a lid...maybe use some plexiglass or acrylic to make one
