I have always wondered about this fish, but haven't seen too many first hand experiences.

Anyone here kept one? What are their care requirements? Any compatability issues with anything?

Thanks

A very cool fish. I had a colony a few years back. They are pretty small and can easily jump through 1/4" mesh and they are prone to jump.

They need plenty of sand space, as that is where they spend almost all their time.

Thanks, they sound cool!

Are they any threat to small fish?

Can they share a tank with large fish?

While these are peaceful, growing to 6", I would caution that we typically will get a wild caught fish. The diet of the Pikeblenny in the wild primarily consists of small crustaceans and small fish, which is the caution. Just keep them full by feeding mysis shrimp, meaty frozen foods such as LRS, brine shrimp with vitamins and other meaty foods.

The most commonly available species, the yellowface pikeblenny only gets to 3.3" and is very slender, so is not a threat to other tank inhabitants.

They just don't know it!
