Anyone know what this is on our urchin or if it means certain death? It lost a lot of spines when we transferred but it looks like it is getting some back but has developed this black/red spot.

Figuring out the hobby one coral at a time.
No idea, almost looks like a wound to me. Loosing all their spines is never good. They can get better, but usually loosing their spines is a death sentence.
