This is my current parametersMantle does not look bad. Some things to assure with clam-
Your clam is in a bad location. Best on a sandbed on a solid rock with cup shaped indent like a baby cradle.
Temperature not to exceed 80
Ca not to exceed 450
Ph not to exceed 8.3
Alk not to exceed 11
Salinity best at 1.025
Nitrate not to exceed.8
Moderate water flow
Good lighting
They’re a sensitive species. You CAN’T allow ammonia, nitrite, or even nitrates to build up. This means adhering to a strict schedule of 25% water changes every week. Set up dosing to provide the trace elements the clam will need to survive if you can’t. Fluctuations in temperature, oxygen levels, pH, or alkalinity can make your maxima unhappy. Maxima clams also need light and lots of it which fuels the photosynthesis carried out by the zooxanthellae within their mantle. Without proper light, the clam will starve.
Light does not have to be overly bright. This is my current parameters

I dont have anything can can cradle the clam. The sandbed would be too far from the light. I dont wanna it move too much cause im afraid i might damage the foot.
NH3, NO2. PH is APILight does not have to be overly bright.
You have very low numbers. By chance, are you using API test kits?
that was my guess why I asked what test kits. API kits are well known to produce false test results hence the very low price for a master test kits disappointing many reefers. Your levels are likely higher and I would suggest taking a good water sample to a trusted LFS that does NOT use API kits for testing and see what readings they come up with for:NH3, NO2. PH is API
The rest is salifert.
what brand do you recommend for these tests?that was my guess why I asked what test kits. Ammonia-ph-nitrate-phosphate-salinity (for verification)
Hanna or salifertwhat brand do you recommend for these tests?
