hope that its not but im not sure what it looks like and i think it may be. or im atleast worried about it. maybe just clam noob worry gitters

bought the clam on 10/30/11 so only been in the tank for a few days now looked good at the lfs but to be honest i couldnt see the entire clam where it was sitting. it was in a bowl of sand with 2 other bigger clams sitting behind them just were you could see it...
so i may have missed it then but this is first time i have gotten a real good look at it.

sorry for the horribel pictures.. ill have amanda get out the point of sale and see if she can do any better if needed....and it has bene slowly turning itself in the sand, i guess trying to get it self anchored... would it be better on the rocks?? the lfs said it needed to be in the sand bed??

You can do a fresh water dip.
Get ro/di water, bring the temp and the ph to match the tank's. Dip the clam for a few minutes
Repeat again in a few days.

I don't see what you are talking about? Can you get clearer pic's?

Don't do any FWD, you will do more harm than good at this point. Are you running carbon on the tank?

I'm no expert like Chris but all I can tell you is that when I first got my clams, they weren't fully open as yours seem to be. After a few weeks or less, they'll open up alot more.

Ill get the razor blade out tonight and clean the glass in front of it better. And get more pics. It does seem to be opening up more but hasn't set its foot in yet. Like I said I may just be noob worries lol

it has started to move itself over into my pile of yuma's and rics, it was right up against them and opened up the most i had seen it. i think it was goign to them for protection or soemthing i dont know... but i kinda cleared a path out to where it could get into the middle of them if it wanted to. so it appears to be opening up more and more where it appeared to be pinched. im not goign to start dips on it yet but i am going to keep a close eye on it! will update with hopefully better pics soon!

Honestly I didn't see anything that looked pinched. Pinched mantle is the curling upward and inward of the mantle.

ok there was just part of it that was not out and opened liek the rest and i think i was just worried... i havnt been messing with it or moving it.. just letting it do its thing

it turned around to where i could see the other end of it and got some better pics. it doesnt really looked pinched now that its turned to where i can see it. does it look ok to everyone?? its opening up pretty good from what i cna tell!

I see nothing wrong with this clam, dont dip it or do anything is my advice like skins said

thanks guys im just nervous i guess lol i wanna make sure its happy and nothin goes wrong!! and if it does wanna catch it early. just made me worried when mantle on this end wasnt out as far as the rest!!

and it was opened up more than that within a few min after taking those pics lol
