My beautiful pink ******* chalice frag is growing nicely, but a few days ago one of my friends goes "I like that orange coral" ---GASP! Since I look at it every day I hadn't really noticed the color shift, but once he said it I knew he was right.

I'm running AI Nano....which I'm guessing has similar configuration options to AI SOL.

Has anyone here had a similar experience / suggestions for which settings I should use to maximize pink colors? It's still neon-ish under under the blue only lights, but I'd like to keep it pink all the time.

I had it on the sand bed but moved it up a few days ago just to see if a little extra light might make a difference (so far, no change).

Thanks!

Matt

Funny you posted becasue I was going to do a search becasue I have the same issue. I have a nice orange ****** with my AI sol Blue. I just finished a DIY supplemental light to add the missing spectrum. Not sure if this a reflection of missing light or too much. Mine is off to the side mid way up.

That makes me feel at least a little better. Did the supplemental light fix the problem?

I just finished seeing a pink ******* colony under ai's and it was completely yellow the LEDs will do that to certain corals

I just installed the fixturee to not sure. I aam not happy with color so I will be changing theled's around (less red & green). I will keep ****** in same place to be fair. Been under led for awhile so no hurry . Will post a pick

Sounds kinda cool. Anyone have any pics?

I have a boostLED par 30 added on my 16 gallon nano and my mummy eye is losing some color as well. Is it cuz hes getting too much light??

first chalice ever btw. heres pictures from when I got it and now about 2 months ago.

possible, LED puts out alot more light than what most people think, eyeballs are deceiving. There could be a missing spectrum that adds to color shift as well

I'm not sure if this is the answer, but I did put it higher in the tank about a week ago, and it definitely looks more pink than it did before the move.

Ibeen running AI Sol Blue for about 4 months now and just do not have any of these issues with my chalices or any of my coral.

Bumping this thread. I'm having the same issue with my Pink ******* under my Radions. Not sure if its spectrum or light intensity.

My pink ****** is under the radion lights & it looks really good, not orange at all!

Mine turned really org under my cheapy LED fixture but after I put it back under t5s the pink is starting to come back. On a side note my LEDs are run with blue only. I've also noticed some chalices will loose color but if you catch it early enough and shade them a bit they will usually color back up.

Mine looks orange on sand bed under Ecoxotic LED (blue and white). Should I move it up or in shade? I am confused. Anybody using Ecoxotic?

mine is a little off on color too but dont ask me if its orange or not...im colorblind. I have DIY leds blue and white with a few uv. its in high light in my tank here is a pick. if it is pink correct me because im not good at colors. its the big colony in the background
