Pink gorgonian releasing slime or mucus

I have a pink photosynthetic gorgonian that has been really easy to keep for the last year or two but I have noticed recently it seems to get covered in a whispy mucus or slime. At first, I thought it was algae but now I think the coral is producing it. I can blow off easy enough and polyps seem to extend. Anybody got any ideas?

Have a pic? A lot of them shed their "skin" from time to time. Usually not something to worry about if you see the polyps come out.
