i just read it wrong... hey SDguy how do you let your colony grow out do you just let it form the way it wants to or do you try and get it to grow out smooth? i know at vivid they put epoxy all around it so it grows more flat and smooth just wondering how yours grows?
I let mine do whatever it wants. At one point it was plating into midwater, since there was no rock to be found LOL. My friends thought that was cool. Meh, I didn't, so I cut that edge off. I usually leave one edge where I lightly glue a frag disc down to let the tissue grow over it. Then snap the disc off when it's grown over. This way I never have to go in and cut the thing to make the occasional frag. But it takes patience
Now with more room, after the tank upgrade, I plan to put it somewhere that has rock all around it for it to grow on. The bumpier, the better. I'm not as much a fan of "flat" growth chalices... I like dimension and texture.

Hey Fonda, that looks great! The Hybrid has like 7 eyes now :tongue: and the BGM almost covers the entire disc!

Im 98% sure thats a pink *******. Mine looked like that for at least 4 months before i finally saw a little green streaks in the eyes. My mistake was when i got my frag 2 years ago i loved it so much i shaded it and it never color up. When i finally got the courage to give it some light, it colored up and the green and orange eyes showed. All my pieces lose its color and look like that or even a little lighter when i frag it. The pink ******* need to color up and heal for at least 3 weeks before i sell the frag. Im so sure that its the pink ******* that if you are in my are and wanna drop by, ill trade you for a colored up piece of my pink ******* if u dont want to wait for your to color up.. =) i have about 7-8 frags of it right now that you can choose from.
