Pink/red "worms"? "Fans"? by the hundreds

These have been in my tank for a long time. Whenever I touch the sand they are evident, but always by the glass. I thought they were not alive, maybe left over food or something else, but when I move them they move right back within an hour. Makes my sand look like I don't take care of it and my nitrates are at 2.5 so they aren't rotting food. I've seen some move when I pull them out if I look close and hard enough.

Spaghetti worms are straight out of Alien the movie but do good for your tank. Crazy creepy, but good.

you are lucky to have them my friend. Bear in mind we are trying to keep a natural habitate going here and appreciate every bit of life that comes with it

I know the feeling, they make me feel like my sand is dirty even though I keep a clean tank. Just one of those things I guess
