Thanks, I was wondering if it could be a sponge. What caused me a little concern is that I couldn't find any other thread on R2R mentioning a pink sponge like this. Has anybody else had something similar?Looks like a sponge. These are harmless filter-feeders and part of a healthy tank ecosystem. Air exposure can kill these creatures.
I have a similar sponge in my macroalgae tank, one with transparent tubes (oscula) on an opaque "base." However, this one is tan in coloration. I also have a pink sponge with a different texture. Neither have caused issues, though the tan one has gotten very large. Thanks, I was wondering if it could be a sponge.
